Event Recap: Printers Row
This past weekend, the Furever Home Friends attended Printers Row Lit Fest as an exhibitor! For those of you not local to Chicago, Printers Row Lit Fest is a huge weekend-long book festival in downtown Chicago. Publishers, bookstores, and authors set up in tents and on the sidewalk to sell and sign books for the thousands of visitors that come to enjoy the festival. There are also authors giving panel discussions and presentations about their work. Basically, take ComicCon, combine it with a state fair, and make it about books: that's Printers Row.
This weekend was wonderful for us! We had a table in one of the tents where we sold and signed books to customers that came by. This event was basically our Black Friday. We sold more books than we had at any other single event, including our launch party. In fact, we more than doubled the number of books sold at the launch party!
Since it's an outdoor event, people often bring their dogs along to enjoy the fair. We got to make lots of new dog friends this weekend, and we even signed books for a few dogs! Hey, we know dogs love being read to as well!
Even though the weekend was rainy, tons of book lovers still showed up to shop for books and talk with authors and publishers. This will definitely be an event we attend every year!
We're excited for our next event, which will be in Indiana this July! Until then, we're hard at work completing the art for Just Me, Wrigley. And, we're working on drafting up book #4! Pupdates about that will be coming soon! :)
